We were so pleased that Megan Phillips, Regional Manager, Positive Behaviour Support<\/a>, could attend the 10th Annual International Criminal Justice Conference<\/a> held in Melbourne<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At Hearth Allied Health<\/a>, professional development is encouraged and supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Megan Phillips is our Positive Behaviour Support Manager and an advanced, specialist Positive Behaviour Support practitioner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a registered Psychologist<\/a>, with years of experience working in the prison system with offenders, Megan\u2019s specialist area of expertise is in offending behaviour and criminal justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is great that the conference was in Melbourne this year and that Megan Phillips can keep her knowledge and practice up to date with the current international standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In addition to Megan\u2019s specialist area of expertise, over the last 15 years Megan Phillips has worked with people who have a disability with complex behaviours of concern<\/a>. As a result, Megan has developed extensive skills in high quality clinical assessment, treatment, management plans and interventions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n More specifically Megan Phillipsis skilled in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Group Therapy, Case Management, Psychological Assessment, NDIS Restrictive Practice<\/a> and Positive Behaviour Support legislation, including the Authority Program Officer (APO) \/Authority Reporting Officer (ARO) role.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hearth founded on Justin Scanlon\u2019s lived experience <\/a>with his son Tristan and built from scratch in 2017 to transform disability support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Key to Hearths success has been its constant evolution through experience with hundreds of disability Support Workers and Participants and strengthened through deep sector engagement and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hearth, founded to provide responsive support without the hassle, while understanding that every person with a special need is profoundly different and unique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The initial focus of Hearth was recruiting, employing, matching, and training disability Support Workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n At Hearth we have continued to evolve and learn rapidly to build capability, systems, and processes to be able to sustainably support a wide range of Client\/Participant needs, leading to positive outcomes for our Participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To this end, during 2021 we expanded our Melbourne support services to create a true client centred interdisciplinary approach to support. The additional services include Hearth Allied Health (Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy) as well as Positive Behaviour Support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The \u201cHearth Approach\u201d<\/a> to Participant support works best when the entire team comes together to support and enable the Participant\u2019s goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hearth Support Services has several key elements to its innovative approach to disability support work services.
