Welcome to the Hearth team action plan update<\/strong>. We continue to adapt and respond to the impact of the COVID-19 as it spreads through our community. The following updates from our plan may be of interest;<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are continuing\nto deliver the essential service of disability support and are taking every\nstep to maintain the safety of our participants and support workers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The most\nsignificant change this week has been the introduction of a stage two shutdown in\nVictoria which has impacted significantly on community access <\/strong>for our\nparticipants. We cover off the restrictions and full implications of this\naction in section 4<\/strong> of this update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It is essential\nthat we all adapt to the new circumstances we find ourselves living in. To this\nend one of our participants requested that we develop a sign for their front\ndoor which altered people coming into their home that they had a unique\nhygiene process<\/strong> that they required people visiting their home to follow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We thought this\nwas a great idea, so we developed the sign below. We thought it was such a\ngreat idea we are going to include one in our care packs<\/strong>. If you would\nlike a copy now download the PDF below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Great news the 1800\nsurgical masks we ordered have arrived<\/strong>! We anticipate that the1,000\nbottles of hand sanitiser will arrive within the next 3 weeks. We are also\ntrying to find a supply of nitrile or latex gloves with no luck yet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We will\ndistribute the masks, sanitiser and sign in a care pack<\/strong> to our\nparticipant homes and support workers as soon as the hand sanitiser arrives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n If you urgently need some surgical masks please contact us on <\/strong>info@hearthaustralia.com.au<\/strong><\/a> and we will organise immediate delivery.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Hearth is continuing\nto build a contingent workforce<\/strong> as a matter of urgency, increasing\nrecruitment of support workers to support the need to have back-up\nsupports matched across our participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Federal and State\nGovernments have announced several measures to curb the spread of COVID-19.\nThese measures in Victoria include a shutdown of non-essential services (stage\ntwo), however they do not constitute a lockdown like those seen in Europe, or a\nstay-at-home order like those in place across the United States. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Therefore, we\nare continuing community access<\/strong> in line with the advice provided by both\nFederal and State Governments. While it is advisable to stay at home,\nparticipants and support workers may still go out for a walk, grab a takeaway\ncoffee\/meal, enjoy a stroll\/exercise at the park or do grocery shopping. <\/p>\n\n\n\n While out in the\ncommunity, support workers and participants<\/strong>, will continue to follow\nsocial distancing advice by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As well as\nfollowing good hygiene practices such as avoiding touching objects or surface\nareas shared by the public (such as handrails and door knobs) and then touching\ntheir mouth or face, covering coughs\nand sneezes with elbows, washing hands often with soap and water and the\nregular use alcohol-based hand sanitisers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The list of\nnon-essential businesses that participants and support workers<\/strong> may no\nlonger visit is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n For full details please\nrefer to the Victorian Government \u201cGuidance on non-essential closures due to\ncoronavirus\u201d website page: https:\/\/www.vic.gov.au\/coronavirusresponse<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n One of the\nobvious outcomes of COVID-19 is the need to spend more time at home.
